One of our neighbors was target shooting yesterday, which caused Lisa to remark that we have moved from a place where we heard sirens every day (Florida) to a place where we hear gun shots (the Smoky Mountains).

It is taking some getting used to, hearing gunshots now and then. Such a thing was cause for alarm when we lived in a more suburban setting. Here, it's just par for the course.

And then today, there were three vehicles that went past our house with their sirens going. First an SUV with the East Fork Fire Department logo, then a larger Fire Department truck, and finally an ambulance. Must be somebody fell down a gully or cliff uphill from us. Those were the first sirens we've heard up here since we moved in back in December.
