A majority - two thirds, according to a recent poll - of individuals earning over $250,000 per year are saying, tax me more, to fight the deficit!
Back in 2004, I wrote this analysis of some of G.W. Bush's claims.
In 2003, I wrote this, in which I also rail against tax cuts. (At the time I was earning nearly, but not quite, $100K per year.)
And way back in 2002, when this blog was less than a month old, I mentioned the 2010 endpoint that we are dealing with now.
When I had money, I did not mind paying my taxes. Once your income reaches a certain level, income taxes really do not affect your financial security. And now an increasing number of wealthy people are telling the government exactly that. "We have plenty of money. The deficit is skyrocketing. Stop giving us tax cuts, we don't need them. We'll be fine."
