Normally, pets become mine. Jack the cat here at home, Bean the chihuahua at Frank's, etc.
Rocko, on the other hand, is closely attached to Lisa and seems intent on remaining so. If he is following me around and I'm not doing anything interesting, he goes and finds her. This morning he was out around the pool and I poked my head out to see what he was up to; he was standing outside the bedroom, staring in through the sliding glass door, watching Lisa as she slept. I called him in and took him to the bedroom. He entered, said hello to Lisa and laid down beside the bed.
Lisa has needed a walking companion and Rocko is working out extremely well in that capacity. He could easily yank her off balance but is intelligent enough to avoid doing so. His ability to learn English is amazing.
Meanwhile, my back is not getting much better. The problem is strictly muscular but despite my attempts to take it easy, the pain comes back just when I think that it's better. Today I am using a heating pad, 20 minutes on and 20 off. So far so good.
