nothing very interesting

It has been relatively quiet in our little wilderness recently. There was an exciting incident last week, though.

During one of my many daily gazes at Sage's final resting place, our green (all natural!) swimming pool and the wild little quarter-acre we live on, I noticed something odd along the far side of the pool.

'Twas a young squirrel, hanging to the edge of the pool with his hind feet and drinking the water. I startled it by opening the door. It tried to flee, which turned into a farce. Rocky and I tried to herd the squirrel toward any exit, although Rocky was pretty much intent on catching the beast rather than letting it escape.

At last the rodent located a hole and within seconds it was gone.

It gave us something interesting to do for a little while.
