the Marthanator

"I'll be back", she says

An interesting point was brought up on Faux News this morning. Prosecutors couldn't prove the original charges against Martha Stewart, so they convicted her on a technicality: allegedly lying about financial dealings.

The way this issue was handled on Faux was so gentle, so mellow. Only one voice spoke up to say that Martha did break the law (by lying) and should thus be punished. The others seemed to believe that the case should have been dropped when no evidence was found.

Contrast their Martha handling to the general attitude throughout the Whitewater Witchhunt. There were precious few pundits of note calling for an end to the Special Prosecutor's unlimited investigations once the original Whitewater trail ran cold. Nah, keep on going, Starr! There's gotta be something this guy can get hung on!
