so, I wrote to "TLC" (the cable channel) ...

I just couldn't keep quiet any longer; big surprise there, eh?

Here is the entire content of a comment I sent to "TLC" (formerly The Learning Channel - who knows what the L stands for anymore, but I gave them some suggestions):

Trading Spaces, While You Were Out, etc. - this kind of programming has turned "The Learning Channel" into "The Lame Channel."

Tonight I find myself watching TLC, but only because of "Ancient Egyptians." As a general rule I find very little to attract me to TLC anymore. Once upon a time, I looked forward to watching TLC; but no more.

In fact I was surprised to see a show like Ancient Egyptians on your lineup tonight.

If I had the option to remove The Lame Channel from my cable lineup, I would. It is no longer worth the expense.

Sad, so sad. TLC was once a worthwhile viewing experience. So much of your current programming is more suited to HGTV these days. On most nights I don't even bother to check what is on. I watch Discovery or the History Channel instead; even the Weather Channel is more entertaining.

In conclusion, I am quite disappointed in what TLC has become. Have you at least changed what the "L" in your acronym stands for? May I suggest "Lame," "Loser" or "Last Option?"

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. TLC (supposedly "The Learning Channel") or THC (tetrahydracannabinol), either way you end up a bit dim. I think Lisa Simpson said it best when her mother told her that she shouldn't be watching The Learning Channel when she was sick, because she needed rest: "But Mom, I'm hardly learning anything!"
