background entertainment: Stargate SG-1, the Sci-Fi Channel

You should really read my daughter's blog. I went to visit both her and my son this past weekend. She mentioned that she had resumed posting to her blog; not only has she stopped using that annoying IM shorthand, but she has some very interesting things to say.

Can a dad say, "I'm Proud of my Kid?" I will, and I do.

Of course, when you read her blog you may wonder why I would say that. Nevertheless I do, without reservation. She reminds me so much of myself, though I did not follow precisely the same path she now walks. I knew others who did, when I was her age, but I do not believe they understood fully what they were doing. They did what they did strictly as an act of rebellion, without knowing the underlying philosophy - a philosophy to be respected. It is closer to the Native American beliefs than the Roman Catholic traditions my family used to follow, to be sure, and I don't see anything wrong with that.
