A beautiful New Year's morning

There are chores to be done each morning when I wake up.

I get up at 7:45 AM without an alarm. If I don't wake up, Lisa has her alarm set for 8 AM, the time when she takes her morning meds.

After I wake up, the first duty (after donning the appropriate clothing and using the toilet) is to make a pot of coffee if I didn't set up the coffee maker the night before (in which case it would start brewing automatically at 7:45).

Then I take the critters out to do their business and walk the perimeter of the property to get my blood moving and to take in the scenery.

This morning the sky portends precipitation. Probably rain, as it is rather warm today. No ice in the critters' water dish. However, there was one peak illuminated by the rising sun - and above it was a fragment of a rainbow, a good omen for the new year just begun.
