overnight in Georgia again

We got going far too late. Not unexpected but frustrating. Anywho, we weren't going to get to Peter's Cove before midnight, and I had been up and busy since 7 AM (unlike some folks I could mention). At about 7 PM I mentioned that we might want to consider finding a room at some point. That put the bug in Lisa's head, and she was already getting fatigued, so we I found a Super 8 less than an hour away. (Thanks, Magellan!)

They let us bring Rocko in for a $5 surcharge. I hadn't mentioned him until I noticed a sign in the office: "Pets must be approved and a $5 fee will be charged. Failure to report a pet will result in a $50 charge." So I obviously felt obligated to admit to his presence. "He is a wonderful dog. He is her helper dog."

Believe it or not, he really is becoming a helper dog. Neither formally trained nor certified, he shows great potential. He learns quickly and knows that Lisa needs help sometimes. She is training him to stand still and let her use his shoulders and rump as a brace. And when on a walk, he knows to behave differently for her than he does for me; she walks more slowly; but then, most people walk more slowly than I do. My pace is long for my height and I move quickly as well.

Hmmm ... it's after 11. Bedtime.
