meteor October 24 2011

Saw an impressive meteor half an hour ago, roughly 7:20 PM Eastern time. It was yellow and was about 20 degrees above the horizon, traveling east from S to SE before vaporizing - it would easily be the most impressive meteor I've ever seen, except that I also saw the 1992 Peekskill event. Tonight's was very cool, too. Bits were falling off as it flew by. Didn't hear a sonic boom, must have been far away. Can't wait to see other reports.
