comet Panstarrs

There is a visible comet in our evening sky, but I haven't seen it. Comet Panstarrs is low on the Western Horizon, but is too low in the sky to see from my house. The mountain across the street rises 25° above the horizon.

Of course I could drive a few miles up the road to the Blue Ridge Parkway; there is an overlook just above the point where my road passes under the Parkway. The overlook is some 1200' in elevation above me, so the horizon is lower.

But there is another comet coming later this year, Comet ISON. That one should be easily visible for me driving home from work next December.

On a lighter note, every time I think of Comet Panstarrs, I can't help making a silent Pon farr joke to myself.
