sleep deprivation

For the last three Thursdays, I have been unable to get an afternoon nap within a reasonable amount of time.

Last week I finally dozed off at about 6 or 6:30 PM on Thursday and woke up after 1 AM, with three alarms chiming. They started going off at 9:30 PM. I slept for almost four hours after my alarms started going off and ended up missing a night's work. There were five missed calls on my phone, all from my manager within 10 minutes of my not showing up. They found someone to take my shift and it all worked out in the end.

So I decided to get up and make coffee when I wasn't asleep by 5 PM today.

The ringing in my ears is maddening and getting louder.
