surgery postponed

Lisa was quite sick yesterday. She had a fever of 102℉ and serious chest congestion; when she was asleep she sounded like she was drowning in her own mucus.

I didn't think that the anesthesiologist would be comfortable sedating someone that sick, so I called the hospital and the surgeon to postpone her surgery. Both calls went to voice mail so I left explanatory messages and call-back numbers.

My first call was to the hospital; they called back fairly quickly to tell me that I really needed to call the surgeon's office about this problem.

The surgeon's office never called me back. I called them again today to reschedule, and again I had to leave a message. I hope they call back this time.
