Hurricane Irene brought no rain to our area - in fact she broke the existing regime. We had been getting the typical near-daily popup rain and thunderstorms, but Irene sucked all that away in her wake.

Our overnight temperatures had been starting to moderate lately (less than 80F by dawn, cool enough to take Rocko for his morning walks), but right now it is 86F and it's only 6:30 AM. Irene's vacuum evidently sucked in hot air from the Gulf of Mexico. At least we'll be getting back to 'normal' in a day or two.
