Oh, man. What a great music store. Vinyl Fever, on West Pensacola Street in Tallahassee, was by far the best music shop in town when I was living there.
I bought a lot of music there and, when times got tough, sold it back for a reasonable price.
Toward the end of my time in Tallahassee, Vinyl Fever sat near the anchor of my territory - the part of town where I looked for money, drank, read books and found many illegal places to sleep in relative comfort. I passed the front door of that store at least a dozen times each day. They never ran me off because I didn't pester the customers.
Now I hear on WFSU radio that the iconic store is closing.
At least we have the memories.
