gone

The dogs are finally gone. We took them to the animal shelter on Thursday, along with the puppies. Life is so quiet and peaceful here now.

Some of their messes remain; I haven't cleaned up all of the remaining poop outdoors or the bathroom Marly used as a nursery.

The usual problems of life remain, but I don't need to get up every five or ten minutes to attend to the dogs' demands.

Dad and Velma visited yesterday. They brought food from KFC and some other items. Of special importance is a picture of my Mom during her last year. She looks so good and has that beautiful smile. Also included were her high school diploma and copies of both of her parents' death certificates, among other things.
