There was a time when I would have voted for John McCain: some time before 2000. My father agrees on this. He tells me that George W. Bush is the first Republican president he hasn't voted for at least once, but he won't vote for McCain this year.

McCain has changed his positions too much. He now seems more like Dubya, albeit with a decent level of intelligence. He also has a serious truth problem. Arianna Huffington details his laundry list of misstatements and outright lies.

On the home front, it is hot and humid in New Port Richey. We need rain badly. The shrubs and palm trees around the house are visibly wilting. There is another festival in the park this weekend, but I didn't attend - though I could hear the live music when I went to my afternoon AA meeting.
