The college has hired me officially. They wanted me to start today, but if I did that I wouldn't get a paycheck for about 37 days. Instead, I will start on September 1st, leaving me only 30 days without money.

Looks like I'll be going on a no-beer, no-cigarettes, no-food diet for about a month.
