the bad day gets better

... starting with free lunch

Yesterday we were treated to another BBQ lunch at work. Today they brought the ample leftovers to our break room; free lunch two days running! That improved my mood a lot.

After lunch I checked with Human Resources regarding my background check. It had just come back OK (as I expected it would), so they sent the IT department their approval. Now I only need to find out exactly when I start: I expect it will be tomorrow.

Now the afternoon thunderstorms have begun, so my workload will be minimal for most of the remainder of the day.
