delay the election?

Precisely what a lot of people have warned us about for over two years!

Yes, the Homeland Security goons are making noises about possibly "delaying" the November elections. If they hear a lot of "chatter" about Election Day attacks, they might want to change the timing of the election.

The following is the text of a letter I sent to Bush and Cheney via the Congress.org website:

"Mr. President and Mr. Vice-President,

It has been reported in the news that some voices in our Government have
speculated upon the possibility of delaying this year's elections in the
event that terrorist activities are expected to occur.

This is an unacceptable response to such a threat. It would, in fact, be
the very response the perpetrators had hoped for.

If the elections were not allowed to occur as planned, we would appear to
be fearful rather than confident; weak rather than strong.

The scheduling of our national elections is Constitutionally mandated. We
can't be seen to defy our own cherished laws in deference to perceived
outside threats."

I may have used too many "big words" for Dubya to grasp, but I'm sure he has an underling who reads these things and boils them down to concepts he can understand. Dick shouldn't have any trouble reading it, but he'll just swear and hit "delete" when he does.

Something tells me that BushCo would lose a lot of support if they succumbed to the "delay" theory.
