double standards in action
Lance Cpl. Stephen Funk, a U.S. Marine Corps reservist, has been sentenced to six months in the brig for failing to show up for duty. He was a conscientious objector during the War on Iraq.
So when do they file charges against George W. Bush, who failed to show up for duty for roughly one year during the Vietnam War? He was a reservist as well. His absence is documented. No evidence has been provided to demonstrate that he reported even once during the period in question. There is even a reward available (posted by real Vietnam veterans), as yet unclaimed, for anyone who can provide evidence that Dubya showed up for duty during that period.
Double standard? You bet!
