what do you want to bet ...

background: "We Were Soldiers." DVD

I'm willing to bet two weeks' paychecks ... that George "AWOL" Bush, our Flight-Suit-In-Chief will take credit for Charles Taylor's departure from Liberia.

Liberia. The one conflict where we have a legitimate interest. Why do we have an interest there? Because Liberia was settled and created by freed American slaves. Not because there is oil (like Iraq), or a necessary crossroad for an oil pipeline (like Afghanistan), but because there is American blood at stake.

Make no mistake; if Liberia was settled by freed American slaves, then there is American blood there. How many of those freed slaves were the children (or grandchildren, or great-grandchildren) of American slave owners? Does the fact that their ancestorial maternal lines were raped by their masters, or coerced into sexual relations by their masters in return for preferential treatment, make their heritage any less American? Just look at their names, and the language they speak; they speak English natively. Their names could come out of any American phone book.

But no. George "AWOL" "Cowardly Lion" Bush refuses to send more than seven - seven! - "advisors" into Liberia before Charles Taylor leaves.

One would think that he lived in the Yellow House, rather than the White House.

I for one am even more disgusted with this coward than I ever was before. To call him a chimpanzee - as I have myself in the past - is a disgrace to the chimpanzees.

The only reasonable word for him, besides fascist of course, is "coward." But then he proved that by going AWOL from the National Guard, didn't he.

What makes me angrier than all of this is that military veterans, even career veterans who served in Viet Nam, ignore his AWOL status, preferring to cite Bill Clinton's lying under oath about a blow job as some sort of validation of W's "Smoky Skies Initiative" and "Raped Forests Initiative." Need I mention the $100K SUV tax break? Hey, you know that you can get a couple grand in tax breaks for owning a hybrid vehicle. I don't even own a single gasoline engine, not even a lawn mower. I ride a bicycle rather than driving a car, truck or SUV. Do I get a tax break for that? Of course not! No profit for the Bush-Cheney petroleum cabal in that. Not even the little bit of gas that a hybrid requires.

I tell you this: George W. Bush's insistent and persistent lies make Bill and Hillary look like George and Martha Washington. Dubya's presidency is, without a doubt, the most corrupt and disgraceful in all of United States history. And if you disagree, well, there is a special place in hell for you, sitting beside our Flight-Suit-In-Chief, since being an apologist for a liar and hypocrite is just about as bad as being that liar and hypocrite yourself.

I believe that it is located upon the lowest level. Contact Dante for the details.

I'll be seeing you, from the observation deck (far) upstairs.
