have you been bitten by the latest SoBig?

background entertainment: "Enterprise," UPN

At least a couple of people at my workplace ran into the latest SoBig virus today. I was not affected. At home, I did receive one email that bore a signature subject line for that particular bug, but I received it via an email address that I only check through Linux. Nevertheless, ever the careful one, I selected the message before it then shift-selected the message after it (thereby selecting all three) and deleted them. No read, no infection. Besides, SoBig only hits Outlook-based email programs - thus Linux is exempt - but you can't be too careful.

I don't use MS email even when running Windows. You may as well walk around with an M-80 in your back pocket with the fuse exposed.

Speaking of exposed fuses, John Ashcroft is touring the nation touting the "benefits" of the PATRIOT act. Don't forget to capitalize every letter when you spell that name; it is an acronym.

Asscroft is taking special care to make appearances only in front of audiences that are receptive to his particular brand of political revisionism. That is, extreme rightist groups.

"If you have done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear." Unless, of course, your opinion of "wrong" happens to disagree with the current misAdministration - Constitutional rights be damned.
