Guilty, guilty, guilty!

background entertainment: Emerson, Lake and Palmer: Trilogy

Beat those war drums! Yes, Dubya is continuing to seek more wars in order to secure his place in history as the most vile and craven organism ever to inhabit the White House. I think he could beat out the mice, spiders and rats.

Now, as I predicted - only halfway tongue-in-cheek - he has his henchmen making threatening comments in Cuba's direction. Ooh - these BushCo guys must be muy macho; they have no problem going into places like Afghanistan, Iraq and maybe Cuba. Places they face no overwhelming opposition.

Do they go to Congo? Where the slaughter is unimaginable, outstripping anything Saddam ever did?

No. No, they do not. Why? Because it would be an unacceptable risk from a political standpoint. They're already - or should be - walking on eggshells over the blatant lies and mindless exaggerations they spewed before the Iraq playground fight. If they sent our troops into a place where they might be slaughtered in the thousands, that would truly jeopardize their chances in 2004. No, they'll stick with the playground-fight-scale conflicts, and hope that they can keep public opinion at bay for another 18 months.

Soon, though, the public will wake up. Unless they are really as stupid as this Administration believes they are. In that case, I guess we would deserve what we ended up with after "Election" day.
