speak stickly and carry a big soft

Finally found it necessary to get a microphone for my PC. Now I can use it as an instrument tuner!

I was looking around online for downloadable software for tuning my violin (I already have an electronic tuner for my guitar, but you plug the guitar cord into it). I found a few that look promising; they will generate a tone, and you can tune your instrument to the tone. Most of them, however, want input via a cord or microphone. These will probably work better anyway, as they will display the note on the monitor.

A-shopping I did go! Funny thing, though, the one I ended up buying - the Jensen JMP-13A - didn't have its frequency response range listed anywhere that I could find. It has a flexible gooseneck boom, and I liked that; it also has a stereo plug rather than a USB. Both plusses. I had narrowed it down to this one or the Labtec 504.

Got to CompUSA and looked at the Jensen. Frequency response: 20Hz to 16MHz! The Labtec starts at 60Hz. I wanted the low end, so the Jensen was the one for me.

Brought it home and I'm very happy with it.
