Took today off from work. Tomorrow's the scheduled bi-weekly day off, but I'd be working it anyway, and I really needed this day.

Beautiful weather, too - I went out at 4:30 PM and didn't have to wear my jacket. I took it along, of course, since I knew I'd be back after sundown, but it was still 60 degrees when I got home. And there was hot coffee waiting for me (thanks for the insulated coffee carafe, Mom).

Next month I get to go to Orlando for two days, the company is paying for some training. Two - no, three - OK, four nice things about this. One, we're getting the training. Very nice. Two, since we're in Tallahassee, Orlando is a short drive away - about 4 hours. Three, the training is on Thursday and Friday, so we don't have to be to work the next day. Oh - five good things. My folks are spending the winter not too far from Orlando, so I'll just slide on down to see them for a couple days and come home Sunday. It all adds up to a nice little package; and, since the company is paying for our lodging plus per diem for meals, if we eat frugally we come out ahead (we get paid our regular rate while we're there too).
