I've been reading, and listening to the BBC and NPR, but haven't felt eloquent enough to write about very much lately. Especially things political. When I do write, the result seems disjointed. Ah, well. A phase. Not like I get any money for it.

It does seem obvious to any casual student of history that far too few of us actually learn from the past. And sorry kids - I'm not ambitious enough to make a list.

Last year I paid my tithe to NPR; $35, 10% of my gross income. (Yes, I earned a whopping $350 in 2010). Not enough for a coffee mug but I did get my first-ever tote bag.

Disjointed. Much like our elected officials. I'm looking at you, Rubio, Scott and Bilirakis.
