loquat golf

There is an old set of golf clubs in the garage. This morning I dragged it out an started chipping balls around the back yard. After a few circuits I noticed something yellow in the largest loquat tree.

I ate the first loquat of the year, right there at the tree - still warm from the sun. Then I got a ladder and picked all of the ripe ones. There are plenty more on the way!

Then I noticed encroaching branches (both live and dead) from other trees. The ladder was moved; the bowsaw and lopping shears came out. A lot of wood was removed and now the loquats can get more sunshine for ripening.
