mail

I don't have a problem with the United States Postal Service suspending Saturday delivery. How many companies - and the Post Office is a company, as well as a government agency - still work six days a week, 52 weeks per year?

And what critical mail is usually needed on a Saturday, anyway? A check? Sorry, the bank closed 15 minutes before the mail came. Banks usually close pretty early on Saturday.

No tax dollars support the Postal Service. Not since the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970.

Changing the subject, we have an enormous conversion van in our driveway. It is exactly what we need as a second vehicle. A good traveling truck. We can't afford to put it on the road yet, but at least it is here. Lisa's name is on the registration and it was just sitting at the other owner's sister's house. Our car isn't capacious enough for anything more than a day trip.
