that's mighty tall

Dubai has opened the world's tallest building, which - at 2,717 feet - is more than 1,000 feet taller than the previous record holder, Taipei 101.

I forgot to mention Lisa's Big Adventure. A few days ago she rode a bicycle for the first time in years.

Her friend Dusty came to town briefly just before Christmas. He was collecting his possessions because he is moving out-of-state permanently. Since he couldn't take everything on a Greyhound bus, he gave me his bicycle. A very nice bike, the kind that I would buy for myself if I had the money. That allowed me to give the bicycle Dad and Velma gave me two years ago to Lisa.

She had been talking for a long time about wanting to ride a bike again. All of a sudden, one day, she decided that the time had come. I made sure both tires were properly inflated and raised the saddle; after a few minutes she had mastered it. The next thing I knew, she was riding around the block. Occasionally she yelled things like, "I'm riding a bike!"

The next day she was a bit sore in a few places; muscles that she hadn't needed for a long time.

The brace she wears on her left knee helps so very much. She walks with alacrity and now she can even ride a bicycle. That will help her get the exercise she so badly needs.
