A personal and entirely subjective view of the economy and possibility of employment:

Calls from job recruiters to me have increased significantly lately. In the past week alone, I have had to tell three (3) different recruiters that I won't be available for another month due to my night job caring for Frank.

The frequency of these calls has spiked lately. Companies are hiring electronic designers again, a field that had been laying off under Bush.

Also, to the Reaganites out there, remember please that it took several years for the economy to recover during his first term. Obama has only been in office for one year. Reagan's approval numbers at this point were also low. Give Obama a chance. Give America a chance.
