Lisa's knee surgery went well; she was in and out within four hours, and came home without the Borg technology they had originally intended to install. Her face positively glows despite the residual pain, most likely because the level of intensity has fallen.

I continue to receive occasional calls from recruiters trying to put me back where I belong: circuit board design. This morning I had three emails (all from different recruiters) regarding the same position. I spoke to one of them while Lisa was at the doctor's office and he promised to email me "immediately" for a copy of my latest resume. Still haven't heard from him.
