All hail the American veterans on this Veteran's Day!

Lisa was up all night, for some reason unable to sleep. She finally crashed at about 8 a.m. this morning, asking me to rouse her at about 10:30 with a cup of coffee so she can work from 11 to 1. This afternoon she has her monthly appointment with her doctor and plans to work again from 6 to 8 this evening.

Perhaps I have not mentioned her new job yet. She is working from home for a telemarketing firm. A computer dials a phone number and she asks whether the callee has received a copy of the latest Yellow Pages, and then offers a free two-week subscription to their local newspaper. The subscription ends automatically after two weeks with no requirement for the recipient to call to end delivery. Thus, the company she works for seems to be one of the more reputable telemarketing services.
