depression

Lisa is an a bad state. She has been out of her antidepressants for a couple of weeks, and several other medications for a matter of days, but cannot justify the cost of picking them up - despite the significant discount she gets through Medicaid. Her depression and persistent pain continue to increase and I am becoming increasing concerned over whether her judgment may be compromised due to her mental state.

Now she is planning to shut off the cable and Internet, leaving only the telephone operating. Discontinuing these services will leave her with a further bill of $200 for violating her contract before the two-year commitment expires.

She is even considering allowing the electricity to be shut off, although I had to remind her that if we did that we could not cook food nor boil water from the swimming pool for drinking and cooking, and we could not do our laundry.

We did agree to hold off on these decisions until Monday, when she can review her bills and think more rationally.
