a busy day

We had a good day today. Two loads of laundry done, the dog brushed, an additional 512MB of memory in my laptop and a call for a job interview at a local veterinary hospital.

I ordered the memory on Wednesday from The Upgrade Place, a company recommended by my brother for their quality service and attention to detail. They shipped the part on Wednesday and it arrived today.

This is the third or fourth time I've tried to add memory to this PC, and the first time that the new memory worked. My machine is notoriously finicky - it is a Dell - and The Upgrade Place is the only company that immediately recognized the need for proprietary RAM.

The new part worked immediately and my PC is very responsive now.

Around 6 PM this evening, I received a phone call from the veterinary hospital up the road. I filled out a job application with them last week; they want me to come in for a job interview on Tuesday. I look forward to working there, since I love animals.
