a health scare

My father called this evening. My beloved stepmother Velma is in the hospital; she had a series of heart attacks today. Dad recognized the symptoms and called an ambulance, just in time as it happens. The paramedics checked her out and could not confirm a heart attack, but as soon as they loaded her into the ambulance she definitely had one. Another struck as she was checked into the hospital. They performed surgery immediately and inserted four or five stents. One artery had been 99% blocked.

She is now resting comfortably and the doctor expects to release her in a few days.
