frustration
I did move in to Hope Community yesterday, and got a shower soon after arrival. They gave us a good dinner.
There was supposed to be a bag lunch ready for me to take to work this morning, but there wasn't. Of course, I didn't get up until 6:30 am - almost no point in going to day labor that late - and the cafeteria was locked. That is where they are supposed to keep the lunches.
Breakfast is served at 5:00 am and again at 7:00 am. So, at 6:30, I couldn't get in. I waited for the 7:00 opportunity. As I said, no lunch; the frustrating thing is that they close the cafeteria at some point after 5:00, but all that is available is self-serve cold cereal, bagels, instant grits and oatmeal. Why do they feel the need to close the place when they aren't actually cooking food?
I am supposed to have a meeting with my case manager (from another institution) tomorrow morning at 10:00 am, but I need to get some work. I have no cigarettes and am ready to bite somebody's head off.

I'm happy that you've got Hope again with shelter, food, and showers.
ReplyDeleteIf I were homeless and starving, I wouldn't waste my money and health on cigarettes, alcohol, or drugs. In fact, I wouldn't even with a job and home. (I smoked when I was younger but quit many years ago and am SO glad I did.) Jay, take care of yourself, please!
Wishing you blessings and self-empowerment,
Vivian
