New Mexico has legalized medical marijuana. They are the 12th state to do so.

When my mother was dying of cancer, I encouraged her to seek marijuana to alleviate her discomfort resulting from chemotherapy; she told me that she had considered doing so but, as she said, "it is illegal".

Government is essential to a civilized society, but it can be aggravatingly ignorant.
