praying for my mother

My mom is back in the hospital due to the effects of her cancer. Doctors removed just over half a liter of fluid from her lungs a day or two ago. My dad recently had cataract surgery and has not received his new glasses yet, so he has to stay home while she is at Clifton Springs Hospital in the Finger Lakes region of New York.

Yesterday, my supervisor provided me with a cellphone so I can keep in touch with my co-workers as I travel around the campus. I got approval to let my father know my phone number so he can keep me apprised in case of emergency.

It looks like I will be able to keep working during the college's Christmas break. This is a very good thing, because otherwise I would get an even smaller than normal paycheck at the end of January.
