an easy morning

but I'll make up for it this afternoon

I spent the first hour this morning working in a hot warehouse, but the second hour was easier: the college held a breakfast for certain employees. For an entire hour I ate cinnamon buns, bagels and fruit, while listening to the college president and a few other individuals make speeches. The breakfast event gave me an excuse to dress decently for a change. I brought khaki slacks and a golf shirt so I wouldn't look like a scumbag (as I usually do at this job) for at least a little while. Then I had to work for another couple of hours before taking my lunch break.

This afternoon will make up for the easy morning. I have several dozen computers to move, but at least that keeps me in the air conditioning for roughly half the time. A.C. is greatly appreciated here in Tallahassee, where daily high temperatures exceed 90F for about six months.

So, here I sit on my lunch break, already stuffed from all of the breakfast goodies but entirely willing to take the respite to which I am entitled.
