Howard Dean: "I have a scream"
I had high hopes for Dean before Iowa, tempered with a modicum of doubt.
My feeling was this: the world is already scared of us because Bush is nuts. Dean is right out there too, but a bit more rational. Now that he has shown himself to be a real wild man, maybe he really is what we need: the rest of the world would really fear us if he were President. "What the hell is this nut capable of?"
I'm certain that Dean would be a better President than Dubya, even with the Primal Scream, but I also have new doubts about his electability.
Kerry and Clark would also make superior Presidents, and have greater electability factors. The Florida primary is coming up in just over one month. I'll have to see how the two of them fare in the meantime before I decide which of them deserves my vote. Edwards is still an unknown factor. He is young enough to be a factor in races down the road, so I'm not worried about missing the boat on him this time - but if he gets the nomination at the Convention, I'll gladly vote for him come November. Four more years of Bush is too frightening to comprehend.
