mad cow disease: no clear and present danger to g.w. bush

background entertainment: "The Prisoner: A Change Of Mind"

White House spokesman Scott McClellan says that "president" George Bush will continue to eat beef. Of course, his intellectual capacity is already so severely diminished that he is in little danger from eating contaminated beef. Also, his interests no doubt lie with the beef industry rather than with the greater public interest (despite McClellan's statements to the contrary).

After all, he has historically sided with industrial interests over public interests. The only reason he might lean toward the public interest is because there is a presidential election coming up in less than one year; but then, he wouldn't want to offend his corporate contributors either, would he?

And now the courts are finally starting to strike down a few (very few) of his anti-environmental initiatives. I'm sure that he'll find some way to spin these in his favor. "That's what I really wanted all along!" It is his modus operandi.
